Suggestions before you receive massage therapy or MFR treatment
- Bring sports bra or bikini top or other two-piece bathing suit (for women) and/or workout or other shorts to appointment. A structural evaluation is often used to assess where and how your body is held in gravity, and partial but not obscuring clothing is helpful for this process.
- Drink plenty of water before and after your treatment
- Leave yourself plenty of time to arrive on time or early, reducing unnecessary stress
- Communicate any current physical problems, limitations and/or disabilities to your therapist before you begin your session
- Please cancel your appointment if you feel you are coming down with a contagious condition – cold, flu, etc.
- Get doctor's permission if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis or are undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Massage will benefit individuals with any of these conditions, but it must be done with an attending health care practitioner's approval.
